Promotional script recording checklist
Use with a promotional video or voice script you have already written. This short sequence helps you rehearse, prepare the space and equipment, record, and review your take.
Keep claim review separate. Use the fact-verification prompts in your chosen script template to review property-specific statements. This checklist covers rehearsal and recording readiness; it does not verify claims.

01Rehearse the script
- Read the full script aloud once. Mark pauses, emphasis, and words you want to practice.
- Practice the opening, any names or tricky phrases, and the closing line until they sound natural.
- Time one comfortable full read against your target. Shorten or simplify wording if needed, then rehearse the revised script.
- For video, match each spoken beat to its planned shot and have the needed spaces or footage ready.
02Prepare the recording
- Choose a quiet room; silence notifications and reduce nearby noise where you can.
- Stabilize the camera at eye level, clean the lens, and frame the shot for your intended channel.
- Face a soft light; avoid a bright window directly behind you. Keep the background tidy and free of guest or access details.
- Position the microphone close enough for clear speech without blocking the frame. Keep your script or notes easy to glance at.
- Record a short test. Listen for noise or echo and check focus, framing, and light before the full take.
03Record and review
- Record in short sections if that feels easier. Pause before and after each section; if you stumble, pause and restart the sentence.
- Capture a couple of clean takes of the opening, main section, and close so you have a choice.
- Play the recording back with headphones. Check clear speech, steady image, usable light, and no interruptions or private details in frame.
- For video, confirm the footage still matches the spoken lines. Save your chosen takes and a backup copy.
